About Crossings Community Group

Crossings Community Group provides opportunities for migrants, refugees and asylum seekers to integrate into the communities in which they live. We use music, song writing and team activities to build relationships within the group and with the wider community. We aim to improve relationships and understanding through shared positive experiences.

Crossings has grown and developed into a vital place of joy and support for many people living in the Newcastle Gateshead area.

Crossings Community Group is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation, registered with the Charity Commission number: 1187739

Crossings Community Group is kindly funded by National Lottery Community Fund and the People’s Health Trust.

Crossings Ensemble Project

Crossings Ensemble Project is run by Crossings Community Group to create a welcoming space where asylum seekers, refugees and migrants come together with local and international musicians to create, learn and make meaningful connections.

Our weekly social music sessions are a safe space, free from discrimination, where people can learn, make friends, and express themselves through music. Each week we have Choir, Keyboard Group, Guitar Group and Percussion Group. We are currently running sessions on:

Monday 5 – 7pm at the Comfrey Project, Gateshead

Tuesday 5 – 8pm at Brunswick Methodist Church

Wednesday 6 – 7pm Gosforth Civic Theatre

Crossings Ensemble Project is funded by the People’s Health Trust and Community Foundation
