Description: Crossings Community Group is a small local charity working with refugees, asylum seekers, migrants and local people to bring people together through free weekly music making sessions in Newcastle and Gateshead.
We are looking for someone with good organizational skills, who can oversee a project budget and liaise with other employees, volunteers and members to develop the project. This includes researching new funding opportunities, writing funding bids and completing funding reports as specified.
You will liaise on a regular basis with the chair who will report back to trustees at trustee meetings, or you may be invited to do this. You will also work with other trustees on specific tasks and projects according to trustees’ skills and willingness to volunteer.
As in all charities, recruiting volunteers and organizing training for them is also important. Previous experience of working in the charity sector and some social media skills would be an advantage.
A commitment to the ideals and aims of the Crossings group and the ability to communicate with people from varied cultural backgrounds in a friendly welcoming way are both important to the job.
